Leona Maguire carded a three-under round of 69 that leaves her three shots off the lead after the opening day of the TOTO Japan Classic at the Seta Golf Course in Otsu.
The Cavan native started with two birdies from her first three holes before six pars saw her reach the halfway mark at two-under.
Maguire, who started her round on the back-nine, responded positively to a bogey on the third by hitting birdies in two out of her next three holes.
She parred the final three holes to end the day as among 19 golfers tied for 15th on three-under.
