World number one Judd Trump will meet world champion Kyren Wilson in Sunday's Northern Ireland Open final after thrashing Elliot Slessor 6-0.

Trump, who beat Shaun Murphy 5-1 in his quarter-final, produced another impressive display to stay on course for a record-extending fifth Northern Ireland Open crown.

After taking the opening frame, Trump put together successive breaks of 78, 61 and 90 to forge into a 4-0 lead and maintained his dominance in the final two to set up an intriguing final.

Earlier on Saturday, Wilson reached the tournament’s final for the first time after a hard fought 6-4 win over China’s world number 27 Pang Junxu.

Breaks of 110, 77 and 46 helped Wilson open up a 3-1 lead before Pang edged the fifth frame, which went down to the final two balls.

Wilson, who won his first world crown in May, edged a tight sixth frame and made a clinical score of 72 to extend his lead to 5-2.

Pang reduced the deficit to 5-4 to stay in the hunt, but faltered in the next while on 49 and Wilson stepped in to seal victory with a decisive break of 83.
