Galway football great Cyril Dunne has died at the age of 83.
The St Grellan's clubman was a key player in the all-conquering Galway team of the 1960s and won three consecutive All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals in 1964, 1965 and 1966.
A nerveless attacker, Dunne's kicking and point-taking were crucial to Galway's glory and his accuracy from frees was the platform on which his side built much of their success.
He famously scored nine of Galway's 15 points in the 1964 final against Kerry, leading his side to a 0-15 to 0-10 victory.
Dunne also helped his county to the Connacht championship on six occasions.
His passing comes just weeks after that of his Galway team-mate, full back Noel Tierney who died at the age of 82
