Thurles fixture on as track passes morning inspection

Thurles has passed an early morning track inspection and is fit for racing ahead of the fixture scheduled to take place on Thursday afternoon.

Due to the Status Orange weather warning in place until 12pm, the situation will be continually monitored throughout the morning.

"Following our inspection this morning, the track at Thurles is currently fit for racing," said Lorcan Wyer, IHRB Clerk of the Course at Thurles.

"There is a light dusting of snow on the track at present but importantly it is currently frost free.

"The Status Orange weather warning for snow-ice is in place until midday today according to Met Éireann so we will continue to monitor the situation but at the moment we are fit to race. The ground remains good."

Earlier this month, a dry spell in Tipperary led to the cancellation of the jumps meeting at Thurles for the third time.
