Tiernan Lynch has left his role as Larne manager to succeed Ruaidhri Higgins at Derry City.
The Candystripes have moved swiftly to fill the vacancy by announcing that the 44-year-old has penned a three-year deal with the club.
Lynch steered Larne to back-to-back NIFL Premiership titles with the Inver Park side also currently competing in the League phase of the UEFA Conference League.
"We met with Tiernan at the weekend and we were impressed by his vision and energy to take Derry City Football Club forward," club CEO Sean Barrett said in a statement.
"He has overseen a massive development programme at Larne over the past few seasons and we are delighted that he was very keen to come to the Brandywell.
Higgins departed the Brandywell hosteat in the wake of their surprise FAI Cup final defat to Drogheda United, ensuring that they will miss out on European football altogether after a disappointing end to the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division season saw them slump to a fourth-place finish.
