Taylor-Serrano II watched by 50 million worldwide

Nearly 50 million households tuned in for Katie Taylor's unanimous-decision victory over Amanda Serrano in Texas in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Taylor got the better of her Puerto Rican opponent for the second time after the judges scored the bout 95-94 in favour of the Bray native.

"The bout is likely to be the most watched professional women's sporting event in US history," Netflix said in a statement.

60 million households worldwide tuned in for the main billing between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, with the event event peaking at 65 million streams, with a further crowd of just over 72,000 inside the stadium,

There were some hiccups during the live-stream of both matches, with over 90,000 users reporting problems on Netflix at its peak, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.

However, the streaming platform was back up on Saturday after the outage that lasted roughly six hours in the United States.
