Nov 16,2024

South Korea's Jeon Ji-won and England’s Charley Hull lead the way after the opening round of The Annika in Florida, with Leona Maguire eight shots adrift after carding a two-over-par 72.

A month after Hurricane Milton left Pelican Golf Club submerged in water, much work was carried out to have the course in Belleair in prestine condition for this LPGA Tour event.

That said, it was a frustrating opening round for Maguire. Starting on the 10th, her only birdie came on 16, with three dropped shots following on the way home.

World No 1 Nelly Korda, after shooting a four-under 66, is a shot further back.

Defending champion Lilia Vu posted a 69.
